I love living so close to wine country!

Spent part of the day today in Sonoma in the wine country. Such a beautiful day today. Mid 60s,  wisps of clouds in the air.  I love the Carneros Appellation. Headed over to our favorite lunch spot the Boon Fly Cafe, however due to the 3 day weekend it was a 45 minute wait! Where do all these people come from?

So decided to head over to CornerStone another favorite. Again there were so many people the parking lot was very crowded. So crowded in fact, they opened 3 auxiliary parking lots. We parked so far away we were actually parked in the vineyards!! Pretty cool!

We ended up eating at a new restaurant that took the place of Alsina. The skirt steak was yummy! The crowd, as it turn out was due to a Mardi Gras party. So the rest of CornerStone was only moderately crowded.

The big surprise was the new installations at the gardens. The gardens have been there since CornerStone has opened, but have not been updated since. However, apparently there have been some updates! The new installations for me started to capture again the reason CornerStone was such a magical place.  The first photo shows one of the new gardens. Beautiful red teardrop beads hanging from a structure that was floating on water. Well, not really floating, but the effect was wonderful.

All in all a great day in the wine country!

  1. Love the photos, Patrik! You won’t believe what we did yesterday. We toured the Wine Country with friends from Morgan Hill.
We live so close and don’t go unless we have company. Thank Goodness for guests.

    1. Great minds think alike! We try to go the Wine Country often. We have memberships at a couple of wineries so that “makes” us go to pick up the wine! Nice trick to get us out of the house! Well that is the excuse anyhow 🙂
