3 firing options for metal clay

[wpvideo teHZ8ysc]

There are many ways to fire metal clay, each has its advantages. This video will give you a quick overview of the 3 ways that I use in my studio. The best way, of course, is the kiln. It offers the most accurate way to fire metal clay pieces and offers the control that the others don’t. With the exception of copper clay, it’s also the only way to fire most base metal clays.

A note on cost. As of the date of this writing here are the cost considerations for each method. These prices are from Rio Grande and will give you a general guideline for pricing of the different firing options.

Blazer Torch $65.00
Ultra Lite Bee Hive Kiln $178
Rio Grande PMC Kiln $665
