Hi everyone! I haven’t posted in a while because I’ve been on the road teaching. My goal this next trip is to learn how to email photos directly to the blog! That should make my plane rides more productive.

A HUGE thank you to Spring Beads in Houston, Texas. www.springbeads.com We had a great time having a few classes. First a Rio Rewards class, a whole new crop of students got certified! Certification classes are a great way to learn new techniques in metal clay, PLUS you’ll get a discount!. If you haven’t been certified check out www.riorewards.com

Then we had two other classes a birds nest ring class and a shadowbox class. TOOOO much fun! Check out Kathleen’s special glasses with the cool LED lights!

Back home for a few days then off to Scottsdale, AZ to Blue Hills Glass. www.bluehillsglassandbeads.com another great group for a Rio Cert Class. This time it was held at a glass studio. If you are into glass and in the Phoenix, Scottsdale area, THIS is the place to get your glass. Cheryl the owner is such a great hostess and she really does know her glass AND her PMC! Glass and PMC are such a great combo. Plus the store has a great set-up as well, it’s very well thought out. I’m looking forward to visiting again in October!

This class was also tied the record for the most number of men in a certification class that I taught. There were 3 guys taking the class; 2 engineers and a metal smith. For my cert classes the only other time there were three guys in a cert class was at Rio and two of them were Rio employees! As you might know from attending classes like this, the usual cert class consists of mostly women, but I the think the guys are now finally wising up to what the lovely ladies already know… metal clay ROCKS !!!!

Now I get to spend a few days home . But next, I’ll be teaching a PMC Sterling Class in Richmond, CA at Aftosa, then off to the Greater Seattle Area to Teach at The Ranch Center for Arts and Craft, more on that tomorrow, there are still a couple of spaces left.
