Woodland Chic Photo Collages

I love just about anything visual. When I was younger I fell in love with photography. I was so thrilled to get my first camera. A Yashika 35mm. I would develop my own film and even had a little mini darkroom set up in the closet. When I was an art director, photography was a great hobby because I was able to use my creative energy without any restraints from persnickety clients.

One of the reasons I decided to self publish was to be able to design and art direct my own book. Something which I’m sure any book publisher in their right minds would not allow anyone to do. Who could blame them? Not this persnickety designer.

The images were all taken from my travels. Some were taken here in the US, some where taken abroad. Then I dissected them, layered them, manipulated them, re-worked them until I was satisfied. The idea was make a book that created a mood. A tribute to nature. She is sometimes mysterious, sometimes simply straightforward in her design, but always beautiful.

Although I currently live in my childhood home, I no longer make photos in my closet. Thank goodness, because I think with the developing chemicals O.S.H.A. might have a issue with it. I of course use Adobe Photoshop an artifact left over from my graphic design years. Well actually, not much of an artifact since I had to upgrade my version of Adobe Creative Suite to able to run on my new Mac.
