Finally made the Thors Hammer pendant from Trueblood. It looked great and seemed fine at first. But after I picked it up it seemed to feel not solid. So I gave it a bend to see how strong it really was. Oops! It snapped with very little force. It wasn’t sintered all the way. The outside looks like metal but the inside is actually powder. It’s one of the common issues with BronzClay. A variety of factors can cause this. 1) Not drying properly. The piece should be 100% completely dry. Slow dried. 2) Using exhausted carbon. 3) Not firing correctly. I probably did the first two. We’ll see back tot drawing board.
